PlayStation Vita Firmware Updated To 1.52

Sony has announced that the PlayStation Vita has had its firmware updated to version 1.52. As with the previous PlayStation Vita firmware update this one just fixes a few behind the scene bugs but doesn’t add any additional functionality to the system. However, a few users have reported that the update fixes a version 1.51 bug where the 3G system would not recognize your SIM card.

  1. glad to see theyre still hard at it with the bugs, this way, when it hits over seas, reviewers wont be able to give it negative scores.

  2. Can’t wait when they hit 2.0 and everyone starts screaming “OMG THE PS VITA 2 IS OUT!”

(If you didn’t know the ps3 game MAG received a 2.0 update that was free, but was in fact a completely new game setup, but several websites listed mag 2 on their websites for 60$ with a release date.)

  3. Nice pic of Vita above. That’s one hellava sharp picture.

It looks like an HD smartphone with analog controls. IF gaming can be taken back from smartphones, this is the weapon to wield into battle.

    If Sony can
1.) Get smartphone app / game developers onboard
2.) Get more robust game designers onboard (already done, yeah?)
3.) Get social media apps running like Skype, FB, TW, etc…

I use my phone less and less, I don’t even call people much anymore. If Sony plays their cards right, Vita could pull the “Smart” right out of “Smart Phones.”

When the 3DS came out, I was so fucking mad at Nintendo for wasting such innovative hardware by not releasing software support, now, I use my 3DS so much my iPod is collecting dust.

When Vita launches, and if Sony paid attention to Nintendo’s folly, they could drive a stake right into the cell-phone market’s heart. (while securing a place in mobile console gaming.)

Time will tell. Sony has quite an opportunity. If they fail, it’s their own fucking fault.
